The Air India Modern School was established in 1958 by the Air India Staff Colony Association with a vision to provide quality education to the children of their members and neighbourhood. The School was recognized way back in 1962 when the Primary section was aided by BMC and the Secondary by the Government of Maharashtra. The School has an un-aided Pre-Primary section managed by School Managing Committee.
The first milestone was achieved when the first batch of students appeared for SSC Exams in 1971-1972 with excellent results.
In 1974, our journey began with the establishment of a science library and staff room, fostering a reading culture. The library, now with over 5000 books, empowers students in inter-school competitions.
In 1985, the Maharashtra government awarded the Best School Award to our secondary section. We excelled in science exhibitions at various levels.
In 2000-2001, the Mumbai Municipal Corporation Honoured our primary section.
The school takes pride in the fact that they have focused on all round development of the students, our school excelled in academics, producing Doctors, Engineers, Scientists, Pilots and Successful Businessmen. Here are some eminent Doctors and Specialists Dr. Swaroop Pal, Dr. Rajiv Mathur, Dr. Swahney, Dr. Rajagopal, Dr. Bathla, Dr. Prakash Mudaliyar and many others. We are proud of our student and NASA Scientist Ms. Shweta Kapdoskar.
Air India Modern School is amongst the best in Interschool Competitions for Sports, Cultural Activities, Elocution and Debates. Our football team made history by climbing 4th to Ist division in three years.
The School Management has introduced advanced technology by setting up Audio Visual Centre, Science Laboratory and a well-equipped Computer Laboratory.
